Today is the day that our precious girl leaves for Uganda to follow her heart as she serves Our Awesome Lord and Savior while loving on the Woman and Children of the Zion Project!
Praying for Christine's safety as the Lord uses her gifts and talents and that she would blessed as she serves. We love you Roo Bear!!
Hello All, Christine is having Computer problems in Uganda so I will give you a re-cap.
ReplyDeleteWE took her to BWI Wednesday night and had a wonderful family send off. We watched the British Airways Plane pull away from the terminal and waved the whole time she taxied down to the runway.
Thursday Morning I got a call from an excited Christine as she was calling from "one of the red phone booths" in London. She had a 12 hour layover so she was taking in the sights and she was loving the independent exploration opportunity. She saw Big Ben, the House of Parliament and who knows what else.
Thursday night she boarded the airplane for Uganda and arrived safely as we were told through folks at Zion Project. For somereason the trip from the airport to Gulu took a LONG time so she didn't arrive until 5:00 pm Friday. Saturday was a busy day packing up the childrens home, cleaning in the new home and helping with the move in process. She is loving the people there already and they seem to already be taken by her. They have been calling her "Auntie Christine" from the start and she is loving that. I will let her explain more of the fun and realities when she can get on but suffice it to say.... She is happy and feeling privileged to be serving our Lord and His people in this way! Please pray for her protected health and for her safety. No immediate concerns, I just want my girl to be safe!!
